In the Beginning…
I had no background in coding or graphic design but I was always had a love for design and coming up with “things”. I would come up with ways to solve problems that I encountered in daily life by designing an adjustable straws or modest fashion for women.
I had no idea that my random sketches would ever lead anywhere but my friends were paying attention. One of them suggested I look in “UX Design”… whatever that is. Challenge
How can the user best showcase her growth and development beyond the UX bootcamp experience and show potential employers her value to their company?
How can the user best take advantage of the unlimited resources of information available on the world wide web?
How can the user showcase her dedication, willingness to learn and overall excitement for the field of UX Design?
A multifaceted problem, requires and multifaceted solution.
UX Quick Fix - To fine tune my natural problem solving abilities, I decided that I would note areas in life were I encountered UX pain points and take a few minuets to come up the a possible solution.
UI/ Graphic Design Challenge - Prior to GA I hadn’t done any kind of digital designing. That needed to change ASAP. I found tutorials, freelance logo design gigs, anything to get me using Sketch and Illustrator.
UX Design Challenge - This was paired with the UI challenge above. This gave me the opportunity to sharpen those research related skills like competitive analysis, user journey, interview etc.
